Matt Price is an experienced clean energy entrepreneur with a proven track record of working at the intersection of research, venture capital, and business development. His career began as a materials scientist developing solid oxide fuel cells for distributed power applications. Then he focused on commercializing and financing clean energy solutions. He spent over four years in energy venture capital, learning from pioneering “cleantech” entrepreneurs and VCs about strategies to bring innovative clean energy technologies to market. Later, he led business development and strategic partnerships for an IoT energy efficiency company. In 2014, He co-founded Activate.org, a non-profit that has supported over 240 entrepreneurial scientists in developing breakthrough advanced energy and manufacturing technologies. Over the past decade, Activate-supported companies have collectively raised over $3.5 billion in follow-on capital, driving innovation across industries. He recently returned to his startup roots to co-found Hayzel, a venture focused on harnessing a new resource for carbon-free electricity.
