Thomas Gan is an experienced capital Project Manager and currently the Front-End Development Manager at Shell managing growth capital projects of $500mln to $2bln and also the Technology & Digital Subsurface manager for the Caribbean area. With ~20 years of experience in Shell, he has worked in different countries (The Netherlands, US, Australia and Trinidad & Tobago) in various leadership roles across exploration, development and producing assets. Areas of expertise include capital project management, complex formation evaluation, data acquisition planning and execution, production optimization, digital rock digital performance and energy transition. He used to advise several established and start-up digital companies driving innovation, revenue generation and piloting their technology for field trials. He is also the technical committee member for Research Center of Excellence in University of Queensland, University of Trinidad & Tobago and University of West Indies. Thomas has strong passion in mentoring and coaching entrepreneurs to grow their technology ideas into an impactful business performance and community.
He holds a Computer Engineering degree from the University of Melbourne and a Doctorate in Philosophy of Earth & Environmental Sciences from the University of Queensland, Australia. Thomas is also a Chartered Project Professional from Association for Project Management.
